In The Press...

“International Living study says Mexico is best country to retire. International Living magazine, a leading resource for helping people live, travel, and prosper overseas, has released its 15th Annual Global Retirement Index. Mexico jumped four places to take the top spot as the world’s top retirement haven. It is praised as an affordable combination of modern features and old-world charm. Mexico also benefits from top-notch health care, a diverse climate, and affordable real estate, according to the report.”

“Mexico real estate is booming. What went right? The growth and popularity of Mexico's real estate industry has absolutely exploded. Values in some Mexican markets have tripled in five years, far exceeding the rates of return in much of the U.S.”

“Quality of life issues draw retirees to Mexico. Nobody knows how many Americans are already living in Mexico. The U.S. government pays social security cheques to between 600,000 - 700,000 Americans abroad, and a proportion of those have certainly chosen to go south of the border in search of sunshine and haciendas with ocean views and maid service. Then there's tax - real estate taxes in some parts of Mexico are less than 0.2 percent, compared with about 2 - 3 percent in the U.S. Healthcare was also a factor, with retirees who noted that they could no longer afford healthcare or were not eligible for health insurance in the U.S. Mexico's national health service, which costs about $200, is attractive for those who don't have coverage in the U.S.”

“Thousands of North American expats retire each year in Mexico. Mexico is quickly becoming the place of choice for retiring Americans an Canadians. It’s just next door. It’s safe and it offers a wide variety of comfortable lifestyle choices for just a fraction of the cost.”

“The Costa Maya project is the newest in a series of revitalization projects initiated by the Mexican government to increase the value of Costa Maya real estate. Previous projects included the rejuvenation of Acapulco and Cancun, both of which have proven extremely profitable in terms of real estate investment.”

“Mexico's Yucatan is hotter than ever.
